Hello, I'm Lisa, founder of Believe in the Process Counseling Services. Like many people, I have experienced trauma and substance misuse. For years, I allowed those experiences to shape how I viewed myself and how I interacted with the people I loved. I struggled with emotional reactions, difficulty trusting others, and the pain of relationships impacted by unresolved wounds. Eventually, I realized I had a choice: continue allowing my past to define my future, or begin the difficult work of healing. I chose healing. Therapy became one of the most life-changing decisions I have ever made. Through the therapeutic process, I discovered that I was more than the trauma I had experienced and more than the labels others had placed on me. I learned to resolve my unrealistic expectations of others and embrace who I truly am. A kind, compassionate, resilient, caring, and authentic. Healing didn't erase my past, but it gave me the tools to move forward with purpose and hope. That journey inspired the creation of Believe in the Process Counseling Services. I know firsthand that healing is not a destination, it is a process. While the journey isn't always easy, it is always worth it. My personal experiences, combined with more than 27 years of clinical experience in mental health, harm reduction and substance misuse treatment, allow me to walk alongside individuals with empathy, understanding, and professional guidance. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, grief, or life transitions, you do not have to face it alone. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can heal, grow, and rediscover your strength. I believe that healing is possible for everyone, because I am living it.
